I just stumbled across this wonderful initiative called JusticeMakers. JusticeMakers blends law, entrepreneurship, and innovation to further social justice across the globe. The project was founded by International Bridges to Justice (IBJ), a non-profit that aims to eradicate torture through the implementation of effective counsel in developing and transitional countries.
JusticeMakers is an annual competition that awards twelve $5,000 grants to people with innovative, inspirational, and sustainable ideas that address an urgent problem. The ultimate aim of JusticeMakers is to “introduce novel methods of collaborating with public officials, legal aid communities, and governments to ensure competent legal counsel for ordinary people.”
